The Edmonton Radio Control Society (ERCS) was formed in 1959 with the goal of providing safe and enjoyable flying facilities for the sport of flying radio controlled aircraft. Whether you are into nitro, gas, electric, or turbines, you will find pilots that share your interest. The club offers ground school and in-flight training for new pilots at no cost to its members. Our flying field is located just a few minutes east of Edmonton in Strathcona County. See aerial view of the field.

ERCS Weather Station
For those who have eagerly awaited the weather station coming back on line it is now up and running. Wind, direction and temperature, it's all there. The reason the rainfall charts are flat lines is that we don't have a rain guage.
The weather station reports the wind velocity in m/s. To convert to km/hr, multiply the m/s X 3.6. For example: 10m/s = 36km/hr. so 5m/s would normally be a safe maximum wind velocity for flying most planes.
Thanks Peter Carey and Rijish Augistine from the UofA aerial robotics club for getting the weather station back up and running.
