The Frank Kelly Memorial Pattern Event is hosted by the Edmonton Radio Control Society and co-hosted by the Meridian Model Flyers Assoc., of Stony Plain, AB. Come out and challenge yourself in the discipline of Precision Aerobatics, known as “Pattern” flying. This annual event in memory of a good friend of many aeromodelers, is designed to promote good flying, good fellowship and the improvement of safe and satisfying flying skills for modelers at all competency levels. The beginner, or Sportsman level will have the rules somewhat relaxed in that any fixed wing model can be used, and the flight “box” outer boundaries will be emphasized but not judged. To learn more about the rules, click here. In the Intermediate level any model may be entered, but the flight “box” will be judged. FAI judging rules with regards to aircraft weight, (max 5 KG) and size, (max 2 metre) will apply for FAI-A Advanced and FAI-P Preliminary schedules. |
